Hello all, I just purchased an iPhone 4 from best buy this morning at 10:30 am (it's now 10:40 pm) they activated it for me, but the 3g isn't working..I can't receive texts use the internet without wifi, nothing except make and receive calls. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I've tried everything I can think of, restored twice, nothing is working! Please help and thank you!

if there is an apple near you just bring the phone in and explain the issue...if they can not fix it they will give you a new one...

I had this problem too. I turned on 3g in settings then rebooted it and it was fine.

Did you go to Settings>General>Network>3G and turn it on. Enjoy.

Same problem here, fedex just brought me 2 iphone 4's one of them dont show the 3G icon, I have rebooted and nothing, Wifi works and calls work but no 3G.

I'm in the process of restoring to see if this works.

Mine is working now! I took it to best buy he put in a new sim card and it worked right away. He said it was a bad sim. Maybe that's your problem too!

Or maybe the Sim card wasn't seated properly.

Ehh i doubt it. I took it out and put it back in a few times. Plus wouldn't that mean you couldn't make calls also?

Give ATT a call. They should be able to get you set up.

That was weird I called ATT and they told me I didnt had a data plan on my iphone, when I ordered the phone I had the $25 data feature marked for sure, is the only way I was able to pay for the phone.

Either way , they added the data plan and now 3G works, and I love the test speed 3.2mbps + and 1.2mbps down . better than the EVO 4G I just sold.

You have good 3G speeds for your area. I just ran speedtest.net on my iPhone 3G and it only gets .16Mbps down / 0Mbps up. 3G speeds suck in my area.
