So just loaded up all my apps to the new phone and my games look really bad not even sure why. I went back to my 7plus on iOS 11 and they look fine. I reset my phone and just downloaded the game and it still look bad. Not sure what’s going on here.

When was the app last updated? Wonder if the screen is just different enough from the 6s or 7 that the game/app needs to be updated to take advantage of the iPhone 8 specs.

Sounds far fetch (even to me), but that's the only explanation I have.

Either that or maybe it’s not updated to be optimized with iOS 11 yet? Maybe try to reinstall it again.

Not sure about games yet but snapchat filters are heavily pixelated. I’m hoping it’s he app that needs to be updated and not some defect with the phone.

It's almost certainly illegal to do so but definitely stupid.

Looks like it’s being pixel doubled from a regular iPhone.

With App-slicing, the iPhone will only download assets in apps required for your iPhone model.

So I agree that perhaps developers haven't updated their apps for the new 8 and 8 Plus hardware, and these apps are falling back to the lowest-common-denominator for assets.

Weird issue. It must be related to the selective app asset downloads as stated above. They can’t have coded for an iPhone 8 to exist
