Hi Everyone,
Just got my mac mini m2 pro in the mail. The system update is stuck at 100% for over 2 hours. Does this seem right?
apple care is telling me it takes all night?

Does anyone know what OS this should be shipping with?
Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks!!

I bought my Mac mini M2 Pro last Sunday. I honestly can't remember what version of Ventura it shipped with but the update to 13.2.1 only took about 15 minutes or so.

Maybe you have the Ethernet problem since you haven’t updated to the latest
If your using Ethernet , try WiFi instead to update
Then go back to Ethernet after updating

While Apple Support tried to convince me that I should wait all night... I just restarted the machine and took me back to the opening screen where you initially turn on the mac. This time I skipped the update OS and just went through the rest of it and then did the software update. Finished in 15 minutes.

Really a shame this is the state of Apple Support these days. I really like the hardware Apple makes, but I feel like the support and customer service has really gone down the tubes in recent times...

I'm glad you pushed forward, disregarded Apple's expert guidance, and was able to get your new Mac going.

FYI, one thing I have found quirky about Ventura is that on a fresh install or initial setup, Wifi is slooow. If I enable the built-in firewall the speed drops to around 67-100KPS. My workaround is to reboot and wait for whatever is causing the slowdown to go away.
