Brand new MacBook Pro, Slow Wireless?

Hello,

I just bought my MacBook Pro 13.3 inch and it is amazing.

I just have one problem.

The net is running very slow on wireless. 🙁

I have a NetGear router that has always had PCs.

It works fine through Ethernet.

What could be wrong?

what i had to do....

when i recieved my mac book pro i had to turn off the air port, unplug both the main internet (dsl unit or comcast) and the wireless unit, and then plug them back in, and as soon as they both came back up i turned the air port back on. Since then my internet has been just as fast as it was on the eathernet. Anyways, thats what worked for me, id say atleast give it a shot...

You have a device running on 802.11b? That might be the reason.

I had the same problem until the cable guy figured out that my three year old cable modem was starting to give up the ghost. It drove me nuts, because that was the only thing I didn't consider until then.
