iPod brand new nano ipod

Please can you tell me how to install nano ipod onto computer so that I can download music from computer to ipod? I bought this as a birthday present for my son last Friday, but we have not been able to download anything on to it, which is very frustrating plus we have made 2 journeys to Currys shop but they refuse to come out to help!

Please advise us otherwise we shall have to get a refund.

Have you installed iTunes on the computer yet? What OS are you using? If we have a little more info on your computer's set-up we might be able to help you out a little better.
