Given there are many examples of open boxed units I see little reason to open an unsealed unit. If you want to use one then buy one which has already been opened. Save the unopened units for those who would like to keep them sealed.

Oh, if I'd buy such a sealed box just to have fun to have that unique experience to open it, unbox the object of my desire and get hand on it and use it, I would just do it and be happy! :D
And I wouldn't bother about any concerns of box-collectors ...

Ok - I haven't ever met that occasion and felt that desire. My collection is a bunch of used and teared off second hand electronic stuff, but it's real fun and maybe I'll get my money back if I ever want to end that ride ...
(and I accidentally got two Clamshell boxes, 2nd hand and opened by pre-owners, but in better shape, than that one in the video ;) )

You're free to do with it as you see fit. It seems pointless to do so but that's your choice.

It would be pointless, to to smash it with a truck, throw it off the roof or blender it to demonstrate, that it's not unbreakable etc. just after unboxing something previously NIB (like those annoying videos about smashed iPhones, just to gain attraction), but carefully opening a box and using the stuff inside as it is meant to be isn't like blowing up ancient ruins ...
Anyway, there's no point arguing about rare Clamshells sealed in immaculate boxes since certainly nobody of us will ever hold in hand. ;)

Just been watching THIS video. Unboxing of a sealed iBook Clamshell.

LOL - The unboxing of that *sealed* Clamshell seem to bee partially a fake! - Even though the Blueberry-Clamshell in the video is in a perfect condition and stuff from the accessory-box looks pretty untouched.
Climbed up to the attic tonight to dig out one of the boxes, that came with one of my 2nd-hand clamshells.
(Huh - the box had been opened by the previous owners, not by me, so please don't curse me!)
Here some notes about the video:
1. sealing of the box in the video: it's fixed a bit loopsided
2. internal box in the video: doesn't match the Blueberry color (but I could find any picture of such a box showing a Blueberry iBook, when I searched the internet...)
3. sealing of the internal box in the video: just a simple sticky tape without anything written upon it.
The plastic-bag, that holds the clamshell does look the same, like the one in my box.
Funny, the video was edited when it comes to breaking that seal of the plastic-bag containing the Clamshell.
The sheet that's placed between keyboard and screen looks similar to the one I found in my box and it's a bit oversized too, so that it sticks out at two corners.

Here some pictures of my Tangerine Clamshell-box with different kind of seals ...

I wonder, if any sealed clamshell-boxes still do exist at all.
That box in the video probably had been opened before e.g.for maintainance, but maybe not for powering up (however using the Restore-Media in the box, that original state of the iBook - including the intro-video - could be also re-achieved ...)

Anyway, the video gives a nice impression about the unboxing
