How about regulating and decriminalising all drugs and saving 30-50 billion per year on an endless ineffective drug war and then use some of that money to treat drug addicts like what they actually are: mostly sick people. Portugal legalised drugs 15 years ago and this approach now has their drug addict population at roughly half what it was in 2001. And even more importantly, drug violence has gone way down. And how about getting private entities out of the prison business while you're at it. The mere thought of privately run prisons as businesses creeps me the hell out.

I couldn't agree with you more!

How many hours has China been blocking Google, Facebook (including its Messenger), Instagram, Snapchat....

If Google, FaceBook, Instagram, Snapchat or whatever wants to do business in China, then they need play with rules in China.

Plain and simple. If you think your so called American value is super superior or you hold moral high ground, then don't come to China. Making sense.

Frankly, we Chinese people don't need Google, FaceBook, Snapchat or whatever. We have our own Baidu, Weibo, Renren, WeChat, QQ etc. Ordinary Chinese citizens don't give crap about Google or what so ever.

Some hold true about Apple. Be careful on how Apple plays its card in China. If Apple doesn't play right in China, they might loss huge market. And Chinese phone makers will happily take over Apple's share.

Meanwhile Telegram, a Whatsapp copy with way more features, is reporting an influx of new users.

Telegram is waaaaay better than Whatsapp anyway. Glad people are making the switch.
I'd recommend everyone (especially those recommending Telegram) go check out the EFF's Secure Messaging Scorecard. Telegram (in its default mode) doesn't score so well. WhatsApp scores better. And Signal is even better (much better than Telegram), from a security standpoint.

As it turns out, the EFF's scorecard is in the process of being revised. The most recent complete version is here.

The Brazilian government should learn from the American government.
1. Stage false flag event
2. Create a PR effort to save children from the terrorists/pedophiles/etc.
3. Rinse and repeat until it sticks

It's an effective tactic, sure, but the US specializes in the latter two - which US events are you asserting are false flags?
