So, the breaking news app, which is owned by NBC , is being discontinued at the end of this year. I use the app and follow them on twitter. Its a great non partisan news source. Now I need a new news app that will push breaking news(and hopefully one that has its own alert tone and doesn't use the stupid iOS tritone sound).

Anyone have any recommendations?

Please don't suggest apple news , I didn't care for it as it rarely alerted me to what was going on.

Associated Press is non-partisan isn't it? I think this was the first push enabled application.

I have ap installed. So far it's ok. At first I wasn't getting any alerts. There was a notification, but no sound or vibration.

Also, if you click on a notification it doesn't go to the story, just opens the app.

I just heard about an app called Nuzzle ,it aggregates links shared by people you follow on Twitter over a specific period of time. It's free on the app store and worth giving a try ... that's what I'm doing now.
EDIT : Not good for breaking news

The last few notifications from AP have not given me a sound alert or vibration, don't understand why it's so inconsistent
