I was following the guide on the wiki to jailbreak my ipod touch, then when i came to the installing SSH part (with independence) it kept saying "waiting for iPhone" and now when i turn it off it and back on again all is see is the apple logo.

2 things that may have caused this are:

I did not turn my ipod off after installing the new OS with iphuc.
I left terminal on while starting independence and while installing the SSH.

Can someone please help me with this ? just getting it back to normal would be enough
a little note to everyone; i'm not a noob and i know how to work with terminal etc.

I just had the exact same problem. What i found in another thread was to hole both the sleep and home button for about 20 seconds. Even after it turns off and starts restarting, keep them pressed. At about 20 seconds a "connect to itunes" image will appear. Then let go... it worked for me and i am resetting now. Hope this helps you!
