Bright screen for no reason MacBook Pro

Hi all, ive just came in from work and for some reason my screen especially where I am typing this post to be very bright, it's actually hurting my eyes. I haven't changed anything and ive checked all settings but all seems normal. pictures as I look at the side menu of YouTube all look strange also. please help

Have you tried turning the brightness down?

Also there is a setting to reduce blue light but I’m not on my Mac now so I can’t remember what’s it called
