My iPad doesn't seem to auto adjust from sun -> inside at all. Anyone else experiencing this?

That's because there is no ambient light sensor. Thus there's no way for the iPad to know when the external lighting conditions change.

Same here. No brightness adjustment at all. Any fixes?

My guess is for apps to be able to adjust, such as iBooks. For instance if you put your finger over the little, tiny whole on the opposite side of the screen from the home bottom - nothing happens. Thus, no sensor.

Yes there is. It is on the top bezel opposite of the home button.

Previously thought to be a camera.

Incorrect, covering it does nothing, thus there's no sensor there. BTW, yes I have auto brightness turned on...
