Brightness settings

There are only 3 settings, and the brightest seems too dim. Anyone else ?

I agree - it's much dimmer than my iPad or iPhone, though it's not absolutely awful. Probably in an effort to save battery life.

It appears brighter if you're in a well lit area. If only there was a way to disable the ambient light sensor.

Agreed. A bit dim. As others have said, clearly for battery life.

You're right its the ambient light sensor. I'm still not 100% happy with the brightness in a well lit area, but at least its better than what I was seeing in my dimly lit room.
