Brigthness control on G5

Hi. Does anybody know how to change the brightness on the screen of a 17" G5 FROM THE KEYBOARD? My screen has gone totally black, and won't light up even after restarting.
Thanks. I am new to this forum. My previous post did not get a single answer.
