With the slightly smaller notch on iPhone 13 series, there is no reason to not bring back the battery percentage in the status bar — or at least give users the option.

This is Apple’s feedback form — please (respectfully) share your opinion with them if you agree.

Wasted space everywhere. All these bigger screen sizes & iOS is never optimized for them.

Why is there a Grand Canyon between the last row & dock? A whole extra row can fit (XS Max)

Freaking angers me they didn’t bring it back. That was the most looked at feature on my phone back when they had it. I feel like they are getting complacent and don’t care about the bulk of new tech. I mean. I fingerprint scanner?! WTF

They do that on purpose to create pairing across all devices so you can switch between different sizes without messing up your app screens.
 
You used to (not sure anymore) be able to turn it off and on (the % number) on iPhones with touch ID, I remember on my 6S+ I had it off for a bit, but then turned it back on!
