Ugh... this is the feature I'd prefer to just turn off on my iPhone

This... and it's such an egregious use of the accelerometer.

Try performing multiple "undo" operations in the Notes app (where is the alternative on-screen option?). Retarded.

If you put this on my work PC but put the motion sensor in my monitor, than it would be immensely useful... because I smack my monitor all the time when something screws up!

Crazyest thing I've ever heard of.

wait, what?! tell me more?

SmackBook is what you want. It (and the ambient light-sensor equivalent, ShadowBook,) allows you to change desktops (Spaces) by smacking your computer. (Or waving your hand over the speaker grille for ShadowBook.)

I use it with a full-screen Parallels session to "smack" Windows to switch to Mac OS X.

Isn't better to just "shake" the cursor (via trackpad/Magic Mouse/Magic Trackpad)?

This concept sounds similar to "Smackbook" roughly three years ago? Remember this?

The shake function is THE most annoying feature on iPhone (even MORE so on iPad). It's time to "shake the shake" in all forms.

Did none of you ever hear about the hack that would allow you to tap the side of your MacBook screen to change windows, or song, that's where the accelerometer works best. Used to love to use that hack on tiger!

Bring "Shake-to-Undo" to Your Mac (At Your Own Risk) Reply to Thread

Do you think they will eventually bring this feature to children/teenagers?

This doesn't even make sense on an iPad. It feels like I'm shaking an etch-a-sketch, and with the appropriate case, would look like it too.

In what way is it a good idea to shake your $1000+ computer when command+z is safer for the equipment, easier for the user, built-in....

This has made my day! This could be the new "pretend to use iPad as iPhone" joke people have been looking for; shaking their macs in public areas and then explaining it's to undo mistakes :D

Voice-enabled auto-correction

Ha, "Shake-to-Undo", that's nothing compared to my "Voice-to-Correct!"

When I shout at my Mac: "You stupid f\/ck!" it automatically does The Right Thing(tm). And when I shout "What the Steve!" Lion automagically reverts the ugly buttons in Finder to the ones in Snow Leopard! And when I shout "That's extraordinary!" the ugly "real life" themes of iCal and Address Book are gone, too! And when I shout "That's the best OS we have ever done so far!" it switches to Linux :D

Awesomeness! Gotta put that Macbook accelerometer to use somehow.

The cool thing about this is you can choose not to use it, unlike iOS. Try writing a paper on a bus using an iPad..

Actually then iPad's on-screen keyboard has an "undo" under additional keys (Though it is a little glitchy). Also a lot of productivity apps have their own undo button.

MacRumors unfortunately is home to a lot of uptight people. This is clearly a bit of fun, yet most of the replies are of outrage!

Does it "undo" if I drop my Macbook Air though..... :^)

it undoes your whole air back to parts
