Loved My Hero and Ardal O'Hanlon. He also played in Father Ted. I'm not sure but wasn't George and Mildred also British? The one about the leisure center with Chris Barrie in it: The Brittas Empire is also good fun. Alexei Sayle, Omid Djalili, Kenny Everett, they all had/have some great shows but my personal favourite was Dave Allen. Chef with Lenny Henry.
Yes, A Bit of Fry and Laurie and Alas Smith and Jones. Great stuff.
Mary Whitehouse Experience, Spitting Image, The Comic Strip Presents, French and Saunders.
Bottom with the great Rik Mayall - down boy - and Adrian Edmondson. The list is endless...
Inside No. 9 was really good. Part comedy, part horror, part psychological thriller.
One of the episodes made my wife cry it was so powerful. She still won't trust me when I suggest new "comedies".

True. Those guys are absolutely brilliant. When The League of Gentlemen first came out everybody was going like wtf did you see that. Don't know what they're working on now but one thing's for sure, it won't be a disappointment.
Monty Python
Young Ones (I love Vyvyan and Rik, still extremely silly and great 30+ years after I saw first it.)
Allo' Allo'
The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin (loved whenever he thought of his mother-in-law, you'd see the giant hippo)
Black Adder
Vicar of Dibbley
I can take or leave Are You Being Served? and Fawlty Towers.
