    wrong
    british pound 1,299.00
    US doller 2,589.64
    Euro 1,640.15
    Yen 256,796.23

cheak your rate as it changes everday.

    tisk tisk.

the pound is more or less twice as powerful as the doller

As a general rule, if you want to buy *anything* in the UK, it *will* be more expensive than Europe or the US!

Laptops, Cameras, Cars, you name it...

The UK has a certain amount of economic independence from mainland Europe. For example, we chose to retain the pound rather than adopt the Euro.

and hopefully it will stay that way

    great, isnt it! :)

what i want to know is how the UK has a lower rate of VAT than most of europe, and about average for the rest of the world, yet we still have to pay more!

    £1299 is currently $2,591.

    Filp it - $1,999 is £1002. Plus VAT - £1177. UK premium £123
