:confused:No, he's an archeologist.

Resistant fighters, supported by the Allies, helped hamper the Nazi German operations during World War II - in the same way your Dad 'helped' the resistance movement by slowing down Nazi freight trains with snails (clever - less obvious than explosives). :)

Today Resistance fighters in Iraq are seen as enemy combatants or Insurgents by the Allies. Double-standards at play.

The problem isn't when they're dry and can be blown off. The problem is when it's wet too (often) and the leaves turn into a sludge that the trains can't run at their proper speed on hence the delays. They've been cutting down the trees that have leaves prone to turning into a mush that border railway lines in an attempt to cut the problem off at the source so to speak.

Haha, of course I know they're wet! Dry leaves couldn't cause a problem!

As for my idea, could it be strong enough to blow off the wet sticky leaf goo? An extremely small in diameter but violent blast of air or water might work! Or... not :p

I like the laser beam suggestion, would it have to be on the head of a fricking shark that was strapped to the train?

All the talk of bunnies at the start of the thread reminds me of the book of bunny suicides - an over priced stocking filler from last year. Well worth a look if you happen to see it in a book shop (although i'd save the money and just look through in the shop as it won't take you very long).

All sorts of things conspire to stop trains in the uk but more often than not the biggest problems seem to be greed and apathy. Our drivers often go on strike because they want more money to start and stop a train (not sure that it is that tough) and if anyone has ever waited for a train late at night, you'll know that sometimes they just don't seem to run the services at all and offer nothing in the way of an explanation.
