When in any program or Finder, when I click the little Apple icon 🙂apple🙂 in the corner for the Apple menu, it highlights it but it doesn't pop down. Therefore I cannot select Shut Down and have to do it manually.

Anyone know of a solution to this?

Thanks

If rebooting doesn't solve it, go ahead and repair permissions from the Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/)

ok I relaunched the finder but that did not help.

I couldn't logout because the only way of loging out that I know of is from the :apple: menu witch is broken.

I restarted still nothing, so I repaired the disk in Disk utility and it still just highlights the :apple: menu but wont drop down.

any more suggestions?

Logout = cmd+shift+Q
Shutdown = cmd+option+ctrl+eject
Reboot = cmd+ctrl+eject.
