my wife has an ipod mini that i think is dead. it will turn on when you press the scroll wheel. the apple comes on the screen then it shows a sad ipod face icon. then it resets itself and keeps going till the battery runs out. the whole time anything is on the screen it makes a clicking sound so im thinking its a hd failure but i could be wrong.

should i try to fix it? (im not sending it to apple, they charge $200 to fix it) or should i put it on ebay? the marketplace room in macroumers wont let me post, it says i cant.

also the back of it says "happy anniversary march 2 2004" because i got it for my wife. would that make it sell for less?
it is an ipod mini link 1st generation.
thanks
tony
