Are they covered by AppleCare? My "D" key fell out and I need to know if they will replace it or will I have to buy a set of keys?

It depends.
If it broke when you were doing something wrong (like taking the key off and cleaning it) they wont replace it.
But if it was a factory defect, they should replace it for you.
Take it to genius bar and see.

I did nothing to the keys, I just noticed it was a little lose one day, but I never bothered to fix it, but today, it poped out by itself.

Funny, my "D" also broke. Just three week ago went to a genius and they repaired within 5 minutes to a new "D". For free, no questions asked.
