So my girlfriend spilled water on her mac. Repair bill is $900, not worthwhile. I convinced her to sell what we could to make up the $200 or so to just get a new one, but I kind of want to know what can be salvaged, and how. I know the hard drive and Ram are probably okay, keyboard is fried(the first thing evident) and possibly other components, as it will not go to sleep. Display is probably another thing we could sell, but I was wondering if we could somehow convert that into an external monitor. Any ideas on what we can probably sell/use?

If the display is fine, sell it. There's really nothing else you can do with it. The HDD and RAM are probably fine too, so I'd keep the HDD for a backup and sell the RAM too.

Unless you are into hardware hacking, you should sell the components that are working. You will probably do a lot better than $200 that way.
