I stupidly spilled a drink on the edge of my keyboard, lived with it sticking slightly… so even more stupidly prised off the shift key to give it a clean… thought I could push t back on and made even more of a hash of it… and broke the little pegs on the key, and likely bent the hooks on the keyboard itself that the shift bar has.

My question is… are the keys for the original ipad magic keyboard the same as the new ones? know the case is different but are the actual key caps the same? If so I can try and buy a knackered old original one cheaply on eBay, but can’t find any information on whether they’re the same or not.

I contacted Apple, and they just did the usual, we can replace it for £255! and to be honest since it happened I’ve been using my 12.9 inch keyboard which is so much nicer to use… so not massively bothered that I can’t use the 11 inch… but equally gutted that I’ve ruined an expensive bit of kit 😓
