I have no idea why, but my Brother Monochrome Laser Printer HL-L2340DW refuses to print after the MacOS 13.2 Ventura update. I've to use it via USB cable, but no drivers are available. Brother says "use AirPrint" and I'd happily dos this, but no drivers are available for this either. Brother says it has no plans to release drivers for this or their newer 2350 model, and suggests using their iPrint & Scan app, but after installing this, I find it only works for PDF and image files! When I tried reinstalling it on Wireless, it refuses to install. Brother suggests pressing the WLAN button on my router, but there's no such button on my router. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

What brand and model router do you have? Follow the instructions for your router to put the router in WPS mode. Then do the same on the printer and it should see the wifi network and join on its own.

Once you do that, try and add the printer as an Airprint device.

See if any of these Apple pages help. You will probably have to remove your current printer then add it back in to get to AirPrint configuration.

I have a HL-2040 printer. I updated from Mojave to Ventura 13.2. With no further actions on my part the printer works fine. Whatever drivers I had work with the update. Sorry I can not be more help.

Have you tried the version for Catalina 10.15? Here.

Edit: The reason for my suggestion is that I have a Brother DCP-7030 which is only supported up to Catalina 10.15 but the drivers work in Ventura.

I have the 2370 DW and I didn't have to download any driver. I just selected the printer on my network and MacOS Ventura 13.2 setup the printer for use. It works wirelessly as well.
Same here.... I believe it just uses the default Airprint drivers.

That is why I was hoping if OP can get the printer on his wifi, he would be all set.

Yes, this is what you do. There's no need to download a driver and I've checked and your HL-L2340DW is supported under Airprint so it should work.
The scanner might not however but check and see if 'image capture' (included in macOS) will find it in which case you can scan with that.

OP, you setup the printer for wireless use on the printer, not your router. You will have to manually press the options to get to the WLAN option and then input the SSID and password.
When I set mine up, I just put my router in WPA mode so it starts looking for the new device (printer) then get the printer into the WPA mode also and it just joins up without having to enter the SSID or PW.

Hi, did you manage to solve this? I've got the same issue now. Printer stopped working can can't connect now. Been working find for years..

Tried reseting everything, reseting everything, changing printers IP as well.

Have to print via my mobile phone! Brother no help at all. I get this: "Unable to connect to ‘Brother MFC-L2710DW series._ipp._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?"

Any help much appreciated.

Andy

Printing is the only downside to my Apple conversion. I can use my Canon MF642cdw for days/weeks/months with no issues and the minute I need something printed quickly I see "looking for printer". The only way out is to either delete the print device and reinstall or to reset the printing system. I changed from wireless to wired and have fewer occurrences but it still happens on our MBP and Mini. Every support article I find from Apple says reset the printing system , that's not a fix.

OP must have solved the problem by now, but...

My suggestion would be to:
1. Open Printers & Scanners pref pane.
2. DELETE ALL existing items in it. Wipe them out!
3. REBOOT (turn printer on while doing so)
4. Re-open Printers & Scanners
5. Click the "+" sign to add a new printer
6. The OS should "scan all around" (including wifi) looking for available printers
7. Chances are, it MIGHT find the [problem] printer and offer drivers for it.

@AlixSPQR I've been fighting with my Brother HL-L2340D since swapping out my old iMac for my MacBook and Studio Display (yay!) but then couldn't print (boo!). Thanks for this tip and link and for saving me countless more hours of frustration -- or spending to solve the problem, which is what I was considering before I found your post.
