Anyone gotten the Brother Wireless Monochrome DCPL2540DW working, on a PPC g5 with 10.4 ?? Drivers or a work around??

Don't care about scanning, just about the printing.

Thanks
Ian

I do not know about that particular model, but Gutenprint usually has one that will work for almost any printer.....I got an unsupported Panasonic to work on a G5....but it took close to 6 hours of screwing around with different drivers until I found one that worked.

Also, you could try some of the older DCP model drivers found on the Brother website...they support older PPC versions of OSX.

Have you tried the generic PostScript drivers included in OS X?

Getting it for christmas.. So will try both PS and Gutenprint soon!!

My GF refuses to give up her G5 .. Hahah!!
Thus the question..

I am not sure, but I believe that OS X will only allow PostScript drivers on network printers and not USB printers. I did not see this model in the Gutenprint supported list, but the generic Gutenprint drivers may work.

Generic Postscript

Generic Postscript worked like a charm..

Now I jut need to figure out the scanner.
Thanks
Ian

In order for the scanner to work, you will likely need to find a way to extract the scanner driver from the Brother software.
