I tell ya, Safari 6 (which isn't generally available yet, but will be soon) is snappier than Safari 5.1.7 ;)

Safari has the best Mac OS X feeling and works just perfect on a Mac.

Chrome is the fastest browser and has the best HTML5 compatibility.

Firefox is slower and worse than Safari and Chrome and does not support the features of Lion. There is simply no logical reason to use it.

How about Opera? I know it isn't very popular; I wouldn't be surprised to find out that you've never used it, but I'd like your opinion if you have used it.

I use Chrome because I can sync my bookmarks across my Mac, iPhone, iPad and Windows 7 computer at work. I use Gmail as my primary email account so I can sign into Chrome with it and achieve that sync across all platforms.

I use Safari for all the same reasons without the need to create a Gmail account. I understand that syncing bookmarks in Windows may require using a browser like Chrome or Firefox so that may be the only work around for people in that position. However I rarely surf the web on my PC or while in bootcamp so it's a non-issue for me. But, I am probably in the minority.

I'd like to say Safari is my favorite as it once was, but Chrome is so fast, fun & effective... for my use, it's nearly unbelievable.

I continue to use Safari as my secondary browser, but nothing comes remotely close to Chrome.

YMMV :D

Opera has many features, but seems overloaded. Its rendering engine is not as good as WebKit, which is used by Safari and Chrome.

Well that is interesting. Presto used to be the most standards-compliant rendering engine. WebKit (used by Safari and Chrome) has overtaken it, as has Gecko (used by Firefox), which leaves only Trident (used by IE)... and it's getting an update in late October that should put it ahead of Presto too.

EDIT: Mind you, WebKit is getting some significant new features in the nightly builds. Many of these will make it into the forthcoming Safari 6.
