Another issue that might contribute to some ui graphics problem is the indexing that os x does for a new system so that Spotlight Search will be snappy. That process uses a huge amount of CPU power for an hour or so when you first set up your system.

Another issue that might contribute to some ui graphics problem is the indexing that os x does for a new system so that Spotlight Search will be snappy. That process uses a huge amount of CPU power for an hour or so when you first set up your system.

I believe Spotlight indexing only turns on when it senses idle. U maybe even configure it to index during powernap(?) only.
