I was having a look at the Brydge keyboard for the iPad mini 5, and thought it looked really good. I just had a question for anyone who may have one, do the hinge grips cause light bleed on the screen?

Are you essentially asking if the hinges put so much pressure on the screen that there is color distortion in the area? It doesn’t for me. The hinges put the most pressure on the screen when you close it, as they are stiff. I actually never close it with my iPad in the hinges.

The keyboard is really good, but not perfect. Keys are cramped and require a firm press, and as such I make a lot of mistakes with it. I prefer to only use it sparingly/when absolutely necessary.

Thank you for your responses. I ended up buying it, and it has changed the way I use my iPad.

I don’t notice any light bleed when the iPad is stationary or pushed open. The only time I see any light bleed around the hinges are when I push it closed. Once I stop pushing, there is no more bleed. I’ll just have to keep an eye on it.

But having said, that I’m very pleased with my purchase. I was hardly using my iPad mini 5 before, but now my laptop stays hooked up to a monitor and my iPad is my go to device for portability.

Back when I had my Mini 2, I used a clamshell keyboard with it and loved it. Yeah, the keys were cramped but I took that baby everywhere haha. I have a Mini 5 now, but decided against purchasing a keyboard case for it. Just use it for consumption, but am tempted to get a keyboard case for the Mini 5 now!
