BTO Macbook question

If you get a build to order option on a computer will it always have the most up to date serial number at the time or do they keep large stock piles of the built to order options in the warehouse?

I doubt they have premade models in a warehouse somewhere.

Besides, when I ordered my mac mini with some customization, it took FOREVER to ship.

I wish there was a warehouse somewhere, I could have gotten my computer alot quicker otherwise.

Since they are built to order, by definition they are not manufactured until someone places an order for them.
