My Magic Keyboard has indentation around the case, on the back cover and on the palm rest.

There’s also bubbles forming on the palm and the back. Anyone else have the same issue?

I just placed another order for one since Apple makes you return it first, before they send you one. Which takes almost 2 weeks

Can’t say mine has any such defects. I’ve not inspected under a bright light, but nothing upon first inspection.

One of the cutouts for my keyboard keys has been improperly cut, cuz there’s a piece of polyurethane sticking out and I can’t move it.

it looks like debris, but it’s clearly a part of the keyboard. Ughhh

mine has a notable bubble on the backside. not feeling shipping anything back during the pandemic so might just hope I can exchange when the stores open back up.

I’ve ordered two, both have multiple bubbles. Not sure what to do next. Seems like an issue with choice of materials

This issue was completely predictable by Apple, which makes their decision to use this material even more baffling. They saw what happened with this material with the Smart Keyboard Folio, and now their just setting themselves up for lots of issues down the line.

Have these bubbles developed over the past few days or were they there when you got the keyboard?

Not yet but yes I’m going to send back the replacement and keep the original for now. Apple support wants to send out a third one but they wont send it until they get one back.
What’s the process for initiating an exchange?

I lucked out with mine, no bubbling or anything

I did notice a light blemish by the Apple Logo, almost looks like chalk that doesn’t come off but its super minor and barely noticeable. Keys everything else is mint.

Mines seems to be okay. Only thing is when is when i open it and angle it makes a sticky noise from the magnets being really strong. that should go away after some wear and tear tho.

I was able to return my Best Buy MKB that contained the bubbles. Luckily my Apple order arrived today and in mint condition. 😀

Lol at safe comment. I might just sticker bomb mine and make it look ugly so I worry about it less. The materials are definitely subpar might as well roll with it.

I got a call today from a special team at Apple that investigates issues with new products. He said my name was one of many in the bucket....

I'd be interested to hear how this conversation went. Apple needs to give up on this material. One of this keyboard's main purposes is to protect the front and back of the iPad from front and back damage, yet the keyboard itself will end up looking way worse than the iPad would. It would be different if it was a $40 Smart Cover or something, but this thing is north of $300!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Magic Keyboard so far. But I retro-fitted a Decal Girl skin to it because I knew the fingerprints and grime would drive me nuts. I did this with my 11" SKF too, as I got super tired of wiping it down every day.

He asked questions about the damage, such as a what it felt like, when I first noticed it, whether it was like that when I opened the package, whether it got worse or better over time, and what the packaging was like.

I’m glad he called because the Senior Advisor who took my first call completely botched everything.

I actually got this same call twice and was asked these exact same questions both times.
