Budget Apple Mac Pro for photoshop

Hi
I have never had a Mac before (always Windows but growing tired of their update issues.) but looking for a laptop Mac to for myself to use (43) for the latest photoshop and also my son to use for school homework.
I was hoping to get an older model Mac Pro for under £500 is this even possible . Seen some second hand from CEX and also refurbished but need advice. (Were a ipad/iPhone family but never had a Apple computer before

I have found this spec MacBook Pro:
Apple MacBook Pro 8,2/ i7-2720QM/ 16GB Ram/ 256GB SSD/ DVD-RW
Was wondering if this was quick enough to get running photoshop. If you need more specs, I can try and get them

I would pass on something from 2011. At the very least I would go for a 2013 machine but thats pushing it.
