So, not five minutes ago I hit the home button on my iphone while it was on it's charging station to see if I had gotten any missed calls while I was away.

Oddly enough the screen wasn't the standard lock screen though. The top 1/4 or so of the display was iPod controls, such as the rewind/play/fast-forward buttons and a volume bar.

In the normal iPod interface for the phone they are at the bottom, however they were at the top so it seemed very odd to me if it was a bug. So I ran to see if iTunes had updated my phone and it hadn't

However, in 30 seconds after the screen when blank again I couldn't get them to come back up.

I've always thought it'd be a great idea to have some basic iPod functionality on the lock screen without having to unlock the phone. Is this something thats been there before that I'm just unaware of (if so, how do I get them to come up permanently?)

Just thought it was interesting.

Double tapping the Home button is supposed to bring up the iPod controls. It's a new feature from 1.1.1. It's not a bug. :)

Awesome, I figured this was the case. Haven't been able to keep up with change logs.

thanks!
