My gmail work fine on chrome, but when I use Safari some bug causes funny things to happen

When I open an email in gmail in safari (which I have been doing for years) , now when I open an email i see the orginal gmail lay out for a second or less, and then the email turn in a very plain looking page with only the text of the email to be seen.

I am then locked in to that page and can not exit it, forward it, reply, or deleate, or file it -- none of the other features of gmail are shown.

Also when I use the 'fn' key and hit any of the F1, f2- f3 etc, key nothing happens but these keys work fine on google Crome.

any help

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
I have macOS High Sierra latest update
Prosessor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
serial nu C02T93TVHF1R

You don't need to post your serial number here. Actually you should keep that to yourself.

I use Google a lot in my every day, since we use Google Apps at work. And as an IT-admin, I can just inform you, that Google products like to talk to other Google products. These kinds of bugs are what can happen, when you "break the circle".

I havn't been able to recreate this particular bug, but have in my time experienced som weird things when using Googles products outside Google Chrome.

What I meant was, when you start using Safari to do Google stuff, you break the Google circle.
Sorry if my language was a little off :)

I've never seen any issues with Google Apps in Safari.

I'd try:
  1. Be sure Safari is up-to-date by running updates via the App Store.
  2. Clear your cookies / cache. Safari menu -> Clear History -> All History
