Wondering if someone else with a new unibody MBP could duplicate this process and see if you get the same results.

1. Go to System Preferences ---> Software Update

2. Click over to "installed updates" near the top of the window.

3. Click button "open as log file" at bottom of the window

4. Two windows should pop up: "Console Messages" and "Software Update.log"
The "Software Update.log" window should be on top.

5. While staying on the Software Update.log window. Click on "All Messages" on the upper left side menu.

6. Then try clicking back on "Software update.log" on lower left side menu.

You should get the pinwheel of death. Try clicking back and forth between the "all messages" and the various logs below. Should trigger pinwheel at some point.

I tried it on mine, older mbp early 2008, i had to click it like 10 times, then it was stuck, weel of death, for about 8 seconds, then it unfroze.
