Anyone know of a good bug tracking package that only needs php and mysql?
and is free?
Bugzilla is in Perl not PHP but why would you care?
i wanted to get one up and running as cheap as possible, so i would like to run it on one of the 6$ a month hosting plans, cant afford to buy a dedicated server right now, not sure if i can run bugzilla on one of them
why don't you ask the hosting company?
you can use the quality and timeliness of the response to see if you even want to host with them.
There's also Mantis: http://www.mantisbt.org/
I prefer Trac myself.
Or... [drum roll]
Set up your own server
there are lots of good tutorials online as to how to set up a server... even if you don't have a static IP address, all you need is high speed internet, a computer that is on all the time, and a good tutorial.
this is my longer term plan, right now i don't have high speed, I'm in the process of setting up towers to beam a high speed connection 10 miles to my house, its prolly gonna take me a month to get that up and running and i wanted to get a bug tracking solution online now. i guess i can just wait till my connection works ...
