I downloaded a widgit off of the apple website. All of a sudden, once I installed it, the screen went black and I heard a clicking sound in the back of my iMac G5. I restarted and went to see if it work once I restarted, but again, the screen went black, but I didn't hear a clicking sound. Could this be the computer or is it just the widgit? THanks for any help! Another widgit I downloaded at the same time worked fine. It just seemed to occur when I ran this one problamatic widgit.

    1. Which widget is it?
    2. Can you boot in safe mode fine?
    3. Buggy widget is fun to say. Try it. Now three times fast.

When I had some monitor problems (Different from yours) a simple PRAM reset fixed it.

Check this article to see how to do that. Hopefully that will work!
