Google Chrome for OSX version 75.0.3770.100 doesn't have these issues, on a cMP running Mojave 10.14.5; but the same version of Chromium has at least 2 strange differences.
1. Using the Command Q keys will work to quit the application but it takes longer than it normally does, and a notification pops up saying "Hold the Command + Q keys to quit." Obviously, someone intentionally added the code to achieve this, so it is not actually a bug, but it sure is irritating.
2. Unlike Chrome, Chromium adds the app itself and the Chromium helper app to the Firewall options menu, and thereafter ignores the fact that the helper is registered and pops up a dialog box asking for the user's OK to allow the helper to accept incoming connections. Another annoying feature.

Does anyone have any insight as to why the Chromium team allows this behavior?
I found it unacceptable and deleted the app completely.
Considering Google's data mining reputation, I would much rather use Chromium, but not when it changes the timing and pop up behavior so drastically.
:(

Or you could report a bug to the open source team:

You could try Safari as well.

Thanks. I filed a report on my observations and preferences to the Chromium team.
Got a response asking for screen shots, etc.
Will add a report here if required.

As for Safari, of course it works well, but I don't like the UIF, which gives my old eyes sufficient reason to drift off to brighter pastures.
