Jaguar Boot Error?

When my computer turns on every time it gives me that folder+question mark thing... like old macs did when they had crashed... but then it continues to boot just fine. Should i worry about this?

Seems as if your computer initailly scan a drive w/o OSX on it, then mosies along till it finds it.

Sounds like u need to go to "Start Up Disk" and select yer OSX drive.

the only bugs i have really encountered in Jaguar have been brought over from 10.1. These have to do with waking from sleep and accessing the network. There have been quite a few times where the finder and all other programs hang trying to get access to a network. This happens even when it doesnt need network access. Sometimes I am able to fix it through the terminal, but most of the time things are so messed up that the shell wont even load.

What I DO like tho, is that even tho iChat is buggy, the instant messanging itself seems to be a service a la Proteus, and therefore when iChat crashes, I stay online. Then once I get iChat running again, I receive all messages sent during the time iChat was down. That is pretty damned good work.

The one where you click "Connect" and nothing happens, causing you to continuously click and click and click it, finally whipping your TiBook across the room to watch it shatter into little titanium shards because this extremely annoying bug has been present in OS X for-EVER and it hasn't been fixed yet?

Wasn't that thing fixed in 10.1.4? I haven't seen it since then and there was an article just prior to that about the 15 y.o. in Ireland who solved it. Unfortunately, Apple discontinued his ADC membership left him feeling awful because he was underage.

Only bug I've noticed is my dock slowing down when it appears. Also:
I HOPE EVERYONE IS REPORTING THESE TO APPLE!

my school is running a few machines on 10.1.5 as a test, but they didn't use 10.2 because there are things the need in it that are broken according to the admin (mosty printing stuff he says). i hope apple releases an update pretty soon....I think it's time they focused on cleaning up OSX (some of the things mentioned on the register, for starters...) instead of making new messes :D

And yes, it seems like most of the problems people have with it are because they aren't that savvy but THINK they are.

Turn on Remote Login and give me an admin acct and I'll show you how savvy i am! :D
