thanks everyone!

It was actually quite a bit more than I was going to spend, but I know now after riding it that its worth it, plus having spent so much more than I was planning I think will kick me in the butt to start riding it to work every day. I figure that gas+repairs etc. will pay for the bike in less than a year, not to mention the fun and health benefits.

The shop I got it at also offers free service for 2 years with the purchase of any bike, which is fantastic, plus 10% off accessories for the next month or 2 (they said they are pretty loose about it). I think I'm going to pick up some of those side handle bars that come up vertically and a new bike computer. Any recommendations on a bike computer? Because of the design there isn't much room for a kick-stand. Any ideas on ways to keep the bike upright when i'm stopped?

I decided to keep my old mountain bike as a spare, or if i want to go trail riding.

Those "side handle bars" are called bar ends and there are a lot of options with those but I'd recommend the Cane Creek Ergo Controls. As far as bike computers go I've used Cateye, Planet Bike, Topeak and Sigma Sport and I'd definitely recommend the Sigma.

When you are stopped you should put one of your feet down....No need for a kick stand. If you do put your bike down on the ground don't put it on the chain side.

Oh and nice bike, I hope you enjoy it.

Congrats on the new wheels.

As far as bike computers go I got good advice from the local bike shop where I got my new bike a few months ago, "Get the cheapest one that meets your needs 'cause they all fall off and break eventually." :D

I'll agree with you on that point. I have a Specialized that cost about $25 at my LBS. I would have liked a wireless one as I didn't like the idea of putting tape on my new Trek but the wireless ones are twice as much and it works great and has lasted me a year so far.
