So I have some intermediate experience with html and building the typical, boring website.

I want to build something using the techonology found on sites like http://homestarrunner.com where the browser doesn't actually go to a different url when a link is clicked. Am I making any sense?

A friend told me to get Dreamweaver/Flash/Fireworks. Is this good advice? If so, how would I get started?

I know this is more of a 'n00b' question and requires responders to invest a little time to help. Thanks in advance for the support.

dream weaver is a decent program i used it for a compitition and placed first, i have yet to use it on a mac so i dunno about the mac version. but my expereince with the pc version was a pleasent one...more so then iweb has been to me in the brief periods i have been playing around with it.

its deffenatly worth the demo download to find out.

that home star thingy is done in flash though, its also another decent program on the pc and unfortunatly i have yet to use it on my new mac.
