I noticed the isignt on my macbook pro stopped working recently. At first I noticed it on my XP partition, and figured it was a driver issue. However, even photobooth on the os x partition doesn't register it. Ever since it stopped working, the green light has also not been turning on. What could be issue and fix?

It may be broken. What model do you have?

Not sure if this answers your question:

Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1

She's not new. Got her back in 2006, so the camera going bad isn't out of the question. It's just that I've been reading through other forums and I came to understand that if the light is turning green, then the camera is busted. So I figured that maybe, since the light is off, there might be something wrong where the computer is not detecting it, which would means there would be hope of fixing it if it's a software error. But I don't really know.

A1150, A1211, A1226, or A1260 model?

Took me a while to find this: A1150

...and actually, the camera started working again out of nowhere after malfunctioning for a good 3 days. Not sure what did it, as on every day I checked it, it wasn't working.

Maybe it's just slowly deteriorating.
