Since the Bullstrap Kickstarter failed to reach their goal, is anyone going to order their elite case from their site? Estimated shipping is May 28th. They do look nice, but that is a few months from now. I’m tempted, but haven’t been able to make myself pull the trigger on it yet. Just curious what other’s thoughts are.

I am not surprised they slashed the price if this case. It was overpriced for my purchase. I still wouldn't buy one as the future for this company looks to be very, very, short.
I have two of their cases. The raised area that is supposed to protect the camera seems to have flattened a bit and now doesn’t protect the tallest lens of the three. I was very disappointed with that.
Curious, why do you say their future looks very short?

IMHO, this case seems over-engineered. At $60, it might be OK for some. But, at $124, this case will need a case for protection :) And, it is not looking great either...
That’s why I can’t get myself to pull the trigger and order one of them. I think this is a case that you definitely need to see some reviews on and also see how it holds up over time. I keep picturing that leather piece wanting to separate from the case for some reason.

What exactly was the point of the kickstarter if they're just going to list it on their website anyway?
From an email from them and I think it has this on their Kickstarter page, as well. Copied and pasted part of it

Unsuccessful, but insightful...

Hey everyone!
We are now less than 4 days from the end of this campaign and unfortunately, we did not get funded on Kickstarter. We are canceling this campaign a few days early and all pledges will be refunded the amount of their pledge!
Running a Kickstarter campaign in order to launch a new product was a new concept for us, and we did not really know what to expect as we got ready to launch. The demand for the Elite Case for the iPhone 12 models made us optimistic...however, the demand for The Elite Case for earlier iPhone models was significantly lower than we had hoped.
THE GOOD NEWS: WE ARE STILL LAUNCHING THE ELITE CASE!
Although we did not get funded on this platform, we gained some great insights about The Elite Case and we are officially moving forward with production for the iPhone 12/12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro MAX models!

US$50k in presales, that's why.

Originally the crowfunding scene seemed to target those without resources to help make projects come true; but it's more and more become about getting free advertising, to "engage" potential buyers, and for companies to take less risk when doing first runs on a product.

As buyers we have the brains of cats sometimes, we couldn't care less about what's infront of us, but damn do we jump to action if we get that feeling that something potentially desirable might be out of our reach… so… buy buy buy… talk to our friends about it… get them to also prebuy what you're evangelicing about… and get that extra thingie/bigger pack while your at it… and… ooooooh… push that stretch goal… because you neeeeeeedz it… shiny shiny… 🤷

I did get in on the early price in Kickstarter and after they canceled I looked at doing the preorder on site but after thinking about it I wanted to know what the total weight of the case is. After using my Pro Max with the Pitaka Air that weighs 9g or so any other case feels overly heavy.

To be fair, the next iPhone is likely going to be the same design so these cases should in theory fit the next phone as well...

I wanted to order one as I’m loving my leather case from them but they aren’t making the new case for the Mini at the moment.

Well looks to be way too heavy for me at nearly 100g.

The Pitaka Air that I use weighs 0.3 oz or about 9g.

The Elite case looks awesome, but at 3.5 oz or nearly 100g would add too much heft to the already heavy Pro Max for my taste.

I just checked the site and did the wheel spin thing, so if you are ordering this should be good for 10% off your order: WELCOME10-OFE39Z

I don’t know if it’s tied to an email or one-time use for new customers, but feel free to try it or just go to the Bullstrap site and see if you get the spinning wheel offer to pop up.

Might ask for a refund if it’s July, should of been may, but $60 for a case ill get 2 months of use from isn’t worth it.

I ordered my Elite Bullstrap Case during the Kickstarter Campaign back in February. It arrived August 16. Paid $60 for the case to be received in "30 days" or so. Of course, it took a LOT LONGER. But I thought it looked cool, although I wanted a Blue one... so I waited. Fired up- it FINALLY ARRIVED!!

Sooooo sad...o_O neither Volume button Up or Down, nor the SILENT switch was remotely accessible. I tried smooshing the case around, tried reloading it, cleaned everything up again- feeling like the interior might be clogged up with left over trim or something- and gave it one last try. Not functioning...

My iPhone 12 Pro Max is as good as new since in the interim I bought a bullet proof Aramid case from MOUS, as well as one of their wood cases, both of which I VERY HIGHLY recommend- see Bullet proof Case here "a Day at the Gun Range":
