Might be. But it depends on the value of the car. As I understand it, a "total" is defined by the cost to repair being more than the market value of the car. Make sure the insurance company is thorough in detailing what the costs are, they'll try to do what is best for themselves, of course.

A 6mph impact in a Suzuki swift can make it a write-off apparently!
