This is for my son. It’s his first Apple watch, but he’s 25 and works in the service industry, serving and cooking. I want him to have some protection on the watch. Suggestions?

Most people will say not to get a case. I’m not one of those people. I’d recommend getting a Rhinoshield Crashguard NX at minimum. Get it directly from the website so you get the a free rim. It offers a lot of protection without a lot of bulk. I don’t recommend screen protectors. They don’t fit fell and look like crap. They also don’t stay on. I hope you’re also getting him  Care.

Someone else will need to provide more rugged options.

Well, after reading that thread and some reviews on Amazon, I think I’m gonna skip the bumper/case. I’m worried he won’t clean it regularly and it’ll wind up doing damage to the watch finish anyway. Applecare will have to do, and I did get some screen protectors since I’m not doing a bumper. They’re cheap, so if they don’t really work, oh well.

I have the Raptic Edge Bumper for my Series 6. It's a one-piece bumper and screen protector.

I'm also a food service worker and honestly I wouldn't be wearing a watch or any jewelry while working from a safety and sanitation standpoint. Banging and scraping wrists into things, grease splatters and burns, cleaning chemicals, bits of food getting lodged and caked into the Watch.
