Burn iDefrag with Disk Utility

Dear members,

Could anyone give me some proper instructions how to properly burn iDefrag on a disk so I can defrag my startup disk please?

I've tried to burn the dmg a several times but it failed. I'm desperate for help right now 🙂

You don't need to defrag a Mac.

You probably won't need to optimize at all if you use Mac OS X.

...If you're doing it for performance reasons. Maybe the OP needs to defrag so he can partition the drive.

I've been getting this error when trying to partition for bootcamp

"The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved"

Defragmentation should fix this problem

If I recall correctly you just mount the image, select it in disk utility and hit burn.

Tried that already, did not work unfortunately

Apparently you can create a boot disk from the app.

I think that function only comes with the newest 2.0.5 version. I have the 1.7.3 version
