For the first time, I had an issue over the weekend with my backup phone, a Moto X Pure Ed. There is a feature that will show a screen when the phone is plugged in charging, but not in use, Daydream. I had a Daydream screen that would show bar graphs for LTE signal strength, battery charge, time, date, etc. "Tech stuff"...

For some reason, the screen was on for over a day while it sat plugged in and unused. Once I discovered it, I found the image was boldly burned into the screen...colors and all. I was very bummed. Did some research and saw that I was pretty much screwed and that it is a problem with AMOLED screens.

FORTUNATELY, after uninstalling that Daydream app, I left the phone plugged in and on (but asleep like normal operation) and within a day and a half, the burn in was completely gone and now the phone is good as new again!

So, yes, that is a scary thing to have happen, but nice to know that it does reverse itself.
