Burn in?

the guy claims that they get burn in after a couple of years.

I had no idea this was still a thing.

Anyone else had such issues?

There's a number of threads here where people complain of burn in. So I'd say its still a thing.

I don't have any on my iMac (2015 model) but I also don't pixel peep

The 2014 and 2015 models are definitely prone to image retention, but I've seen fewer complaints regarding the 2017 and 2019 models.

Important to make this distinction here; image retention is temporary (ghost image fades away and is gone after a few minutes), while burn in is a permanent ghost image and is not at all common on iMacs.
