burning a DVD?

I have all these .avi files on my computer of different movies. Now i want to burn them to dvd's to play in my dvd player. I have definetly done this before, but can't remember how, and what program to use. My powerbook has a superdrive in it, and i was wondering how i burn dvds.

(I believe it takes several hours, correct me if i am wrong..)

Well there are many programs. Like toast but you can always use iDVD. Just use the instructions
