Burning an AVCHD Archive on Toast 10?

Hi I'm trying to make an AVCHD Archive DVD using Toast 10 on an iMac (10.5.7). I have my Sony HDR-SR8e hard drive AVCHD camcorder attached and all appears in Toast fine but when I go to burn an AVCHD Archive disc I get the following error:

Could not read disc because of a Mac OS error.
Result code = -50

Is this because my camcorder is pre formatted to MS-DOS? Can I format a hard drive AVCHD camcorder to Mac OS Extended Journaled? Is this even possible? I realize this will probably mean wiping all my footage already stored on my camcorder.

Any help would be really great, cheers 🙂
