If I burn a data-CD within MacOS 10.13 High Sierra, which format will it be in (ISO 9660, Joliet etc.)?
It's been a while since I burnt CDs/DVDs, but I need to make a CD-R which is to be used with a vintage computer (8+3 long filename etc.).

Do I need additional software for this, or can I do it from the Finder or with Disk Utility?

Hi Macstatic

"Burn" is an app I'm still using for years now with satisfaction.
The UI is well made and very easy to use.
IIRC it's for free /for a symbolical price at the AppStore.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Yes, this is the same app I came across after having lots of problems with everything else (also an older version of Toast which I had to run with MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard) which didn't help. The problem turned out to be that I was using CD-RW discs which caused nothing but grief. When I used a CD-R it worked right away! And "Burn" looks to be an excellent replacement for "Toast" anyway with various format settings etc. It allowed me to choose the ISO-9660/Joliet options which were needed for compatibility with other platforms.
Excellent advice! Thanks again :)
And here's the link to "Burn" for anyone else reading and interested.
